So I've had this guitar, a real Gibson from the 70's, or 80's

Looks like this...

I've got a split head stock and a home made paint job on it.  I've emailed a guy off craigs list about getting it repainted.  Which seemed reasonable.  anyone done anything like that before.  looking at $250 the price of a cheap guitar huh...

I don't like it now becuase it goes out of tune with the headstock and the paint feels sticky becuase it's gotten old.  but the guitar is ine and easy to play.

Dunno if you went ahead and paid the guy, but if he paints regularly, $250 is steep. If you are looking for a complete refinish, maybe $150 tops. The head stock can be put back together with a joiner and some glue.

I ended up putting this bad boy back in the closet.  I did not have the money to fix it, I'd love to because it really bring back a lot of good memories of my buds back in the day.
