I've been looking at this for some time now and I was just wondering what a second speaker would ad for my sound? Would it only ad volume?

It will only add additional volume.  It will not change your tone much as long as your running the same type of speakers.  I did some work a while back for a guy and hey built speaker boxes like that.

If you want I'll find out what he would charge for something like that.  I was thinking they were around $200
